It has been brought to our attention that a Phishing attempt is currently underway to retrieve information pertaining to your debit card or credit card. Phone calls are being made in an attempt by scammers to steal your personal information. Citizens Bank will never ask you for your card number by telephone, automated message or by email. This is a Garden Variety attempt of fraud. No breach of Citizens Bank’s customers’ information has occurred. In fact, calls are not exclusive to Citizens Bank customers. The target is mobile phone numbers, not Citizens Bank customers. The perpetrator is merely using Citizens Bank’s name in the call to establish validity.
